High Dynamic Range (HDR) images have become very popular recently, and in my opinion can often turn a rather dull subject or photo into an eye-catching image. I have downloaded the trial version of Photomatix, and played around with it a little, but haven’t had much luck in creating anything comparable to those images I’ve seen in magazines!
The software offers a reasonable level of control and has useful features, although I think it a little expensive for what it is – $99 for the stand-alone program with 1 year’s updates. When I consider other software that’s out there – noise reduction, black-and-white photo enhancement, etc, which I would probably gain a lot more from, I am finding it a little hard to justify the expense.
I will play with it a bit more, and see what I can come up with…watch this space!
