This is an ongoing project which I started for an exhibition held as part of a fundraising event for the Refugee Council, at the the Topolski Century Gallery in Southbank, London. (More details here.)
the concept
We walk around london, home of almost 8 million people, completely unaware of the vast majority of those we share the city with - such is the nature of any city. London’s population is made up of a huge diversity of people from all walks of life, and a myriad of different cultures - each one of us with our own unique perception, and history. some of us, myself included, come from a place where there has been much violence, for some they will have been tortured, lost the people they loved, or been witness to unimaginable atrocities; while others will have escaped persecution due to their religious and political views, or their sexuality. Each one of us in anonymous to all those we do not call a friend.
